The Commander Golf & Country Club is located in Luzhu District, Taoyuan City, approximately a fifteen-minute drive from the Nankan Interchange of National Highway No. 1, making it easily accessible. The course officially opened in 1984, holding a significant benchmark position in the history of golf development in Taiwan. The course name, meaning "leader," indeed pioneered several domestic firsts in its hardware construction, including Taiwan's first course to introduce night lighting equipment and the country's pioneering fully unified computerized management system, aiming to provide golfers with the most modern and considerate service experience.
The course covers an area of approximately thirty hectares, with a design philosophy always adhering to the core value of "protecting nature." The fairways were not created through large-scale artificial excavation and backfilling, but rather cleverly structured on the original natural hilly terrain of the Taoyuan area. Although the course measures 6,762 yards, a moderate distance, its design, which conforms to the natural terrain, presents varied undulations and challenges. For instance, from some tee boxes, the left side often features dense woods, while the right side is a steep slope, requiring golfers to possess precise judgment when teeing off. If the first shot deviates from the fairway, the angle for approaching the green will become extremely difficult.
