Guanyinshan Golf Course is situated in the hilly area of Dashu District, Kaohsiung City, and is named after its proximity to the famous Guanyinshan Scenic Area in Kaohsiung. Within the rolling hills of this region, there is a natural rock formation resembling Guanyin Bodhisattva seated, and the course was built along this spiritual and picturesque natural terrain. As one of the most representative mountain courses in Southern Taiwan, Guanyinshan Golf Course boasts a unique natural environment. Even in the hot summer, due to its higher elevation and dense forests, golfers can enjoy cool breezes, providing a relatively comfortable golfing experience.
The course features a standard 18-hole, par-72 layout, with a total length of approximately 7,030 yards. The design of the fairways fully preserves the original mountainous undulations, resulting in many holes with significant elevation changes. This poses a considerable challenge for golfers in terms of distance calculation and club selection. The most striking hole is the 640-yard 14th hole (a left dogleg), where the extremely narrow fairway after the dogleg bend rigorously tests golfers' precision when using woods or long irons. With its scattered trees, the course combines scenic beauty with difficulty, making it a highly challenging and rewarding course to conquer.
In addition to its challenging fairways, Guanyinshan Golf Course also offers excellent facilities. The four-story clubhouse, with its ochre-colored exterior walls, stands majestically, and its interior lobby is spacious and bright. Although the course does not have a large driving range, its high-quality Chinese restaurant and comprehensive changing room services still allow golfers to relax thoroughly after their game. Furthermore, the course is very close to E-DA World and several famous attractions in Dashu District, making it an excellent choice for combining golf with sightseeing in the Gaoping region.
